Are you one of those who are habitual to drinking only ordinary alcoholic beverages? Don’t you sometimes yearn to taste something praiseworthy, something premium, something extraordinary, which can give you a sense of exclusivity? If you do, then let me guide you to a place that serves bona fide single cask malt whisky that fulfills all your alcoholic fantasies. Say hello to The Scotch Malt Whiskey Society, an exclusive members only club that serves specially selected and rare single malt scotch whiskey. To maintain its high class stature, this society obtains individual casks from select 125 distilleries of Scotland and sells them directly to its members at a discounted price. Apart from UK, the society has its communities in 16 more countries. So the next time you crave some Jack Daniels, head over to this society and they’ll serve you something even better.
The Scotch Malt Whiskey Society was founded by Philip Hills in 1983. In the 1970’s Philip Hills traveled to the Scottish Highlands and tried quite a few whiskeys which were drained directly from the cask. He was so amazed by what he savored that, in 1978, he convinced some of his friends to share the cost of a cask from the Glenfarclas distillery so that all of them could relish it. Later, Philip purchased the society’s first property – The Vaults. Enthused by the exclusive nature of a solitary malt whisky cask, purchased years ago from a Speyside distillery, Phillip and his group of friends founded the Society in 1983 to purchase more casks. Years later, this society now sources its scotch from more than a hundred distilleries.
If you are a zealous Whiskey fan, then The Scotch Malt Whiskey Society will be an excellent place to rely on. If you’re already planning to buy a membership for this club, here are a few things that you should keep in mind.
