Attention all fitness freaks! If you want to be a part of something simple yet thrilling, here is a unique sports event that deserves your attention. Having recently launched in India, after receiving a huge popularity overseas, this event, which is also known as tower run, involves sprinting up the stairs of skyscrapers (sometimes twice over at that!) just to enjoy the competitive feeling of being the first one to dash up a high rise building. Whether you do it alone, with your family, or a group of likeminded fitness freaks, taking part in this unique race will end up recharging your body, mind and soul, while simultaneously taking you one step closer to that chiseled body that you’ve always wanted.
Mr. Ajay Gupta was the whistleblower of this exhilarating sports event. He is the founder of Sports365, an all-in-one online sports portal which caters towards fulfilling all the fitness, recreational and sports related needs of its customers. Having seen such events being organized in America, Gupta believed that holding such a race in India will give an opportunity to everyone, especially the workaholics, to escape their inactive lifestyle. The first run was organized at the World Trade Centre in Bangalore in 2014. The event was then organized in Mumbai at the well known 52-storied Kohinoor Square which is also regarded as one of the tallest buildings in India. Now, the event is scheduled to be held in Delhi.
If you wish to take part in this unique sports event, here is a quick heads-up from our end. There are three categories for entering this event: the plain vanilla dash which is just a 2 km run, the race that’ll require you to dash up the stairs of a high rise building and the Everest Challenge. The last one involves a team of five running up and down, one behind the other, as many times as it would take to climb the Himalayan peak.
When it comes to participating, you can be as young as 5 or as old as 81, as there is no age limit. Though this event is taking place in Delhi this year, the date is yet to be decided. Finally, while the challenges will get tougher with each event, the wish to experience the feeling of adrenaline rush will force you to become affirmative towards participating. You cannot say NO to this strenuous but exciting event.
